WHO WE ARE
The multi-unit, multi-function non-profit Social Welfare Organisation working for underprivileged, differently-abled children and adults since 1992. It has got the registration, recognition, sanction, and license of various Government Departments- both Governments of West Bengal and India.
Inspired by Late Prabir Gupta, a visionary of his time, Voice of World had a very modest beginning on 4th November, 1992. Voice of World founders, primarily GARGI GUPTA were committed to open the doors to education and empower people who are challenged & backwards. Its core activities are mainstreaming the hapless students from Kindergarten to Masters's Degree and arranging their socio economic rehabilitation.
Currently, we have around 100 residential & 300 non residential beneficiaries under our care. In the last 32 years, we have set up 32 units through 12 centres in different parts of West Bengal and one each in Delhi and Puri.
WHAT WE DO
The mission of Voice of World is to challenge discrimination against any kind of disability and inclusion of differently-abled persons by providing opportunities to learn, live, and work independently. The organization achieves its mission by providing education, training, and imparting a wide range of life skills to its students/ beneficiaries. Of these approximately 90% are residential and the remainder live locally and come to its Centres regularly. During the past two and a half-decade with the help and support of several corporate houses, social organisations, professionals, members of the public we have grown from a fledgling group to an organisation that has benefited as many as 2000 sightless students to attain their station in life. Many more are in the process of getting education and self-confidence which was but a dream, even a few years back.
