OTHER MAJOR INITIATIVES
Cultural Activities: Supports and trains students in various cultural disciplines. Organizes and participates in various cultural events.
• Medical Camps: Organizes Medical camps of different types, especially emphasizing the eye.
• Disability identification & early intervention camp at rural pockets who are devoid of knowledge & services regarding the facilitation of such PwDs.
• Relief Camps: Catastrophes & natural disasters are part of living in the coastal areas. We organise relief camps on SOS basis, with the available resources. During Amphan, Aila, Bulbul etc. our units were tremendously affected too. Overcoming those difficulties, we supported local people with food, shelter, medicine & alike.
• Awareness Program: Disability, Inclusive education, RPwD act, Identification to Rehabilitation, finally empowerment of individuals to family & society- is a long path which is neither known nor accessible to the poor, backwards and downtrodden, among whom we keep doing awareness programs with the given components. Remote areas get services, hence the population we target benefits from the schemes & programs provided by the government.
• Publications: We have a Braille embosser & computerised system to print Braille Books. We have published two Photographic Travelogue Books on Expeditions: A Day at Jispa and Salute Bharatpur. Besides, Magazines are published in Braille on the occasion of every Puja. Various publications on the related issues are also available from time to time.
